Hockey

We went to see the Elmira Jackals home opener on Friday the 13th. Scary night for them as they got shut out 4-0. As of today (10/23/06), they're 3-2, which puts them in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference of the UHL. My favorite NHL team, the Philadelphia Flyers, are off to a rough start (1-6). Of course, the real action is at the rec rink in Elmira on Thursday nights. The mighty Iceaholics are 1-1 in the adult league. I played center in the last two games. I'm skating strong this season and really enjoying it so far. Some of our games are in the arena shown above.

Fall 2006

Well summer is coming to an end here in the Sourthern Tier of NY. Here's the view out of our back door. This picture will also serve as a record of what this treeline looked like before another street of houses gets built in our neighborhood. A construction crew has spent the last few months improving the drainage and grading a new road.

We also went to the Bully Hill winery this weekend. The food was good, but we weren't as impressed with the wine as we were at Dr. Frank's.
