Hawaii Vacation

We had an awesome time on Maui last week! Here are some of the highlights.

Surfing: I went to the Nancy Emerson School of Surfing for three 2 hour lessons. I could stand up on the first day and I was a lot more consistent by the third. I wanted to try surfing for a long time so this was a big thrill for me.

Snorkeling: We rented gear from Snorkel Bob’s and snorkeled at Kapalua Bay, Wailea, Honolua Bay, and Honokowai Beach. We also went on a snorkeling excursion and snorkeled at Molokini and off the coast of Wailea where we swam with turtles. We both really enjoyed snorkeling a lot. There was so much to see and it felt great to drift/swim along in the water for so long.

Hotel: We stayed at the Outrigger Aina Nalu in Lahaina. It is a newly remodeled condo complex. We took advantage of the full kitchen and washer/dryer in our room. The bedroom even had a Dell LCD TV mounted on the wall. This was a great place to stay.

Dinner Cruise: We went on the Spirit of Lahaina dinner cruise. The service and food were great. They had a guitar player/singer and a hula girl that entertained us.

Sunrise on top of the volcano: We drove to the top of Haleakala (House of the Sun) which is a dormant volcano on the east side of Maui. It’s 10,023 feet high. The summit is actually above the clouds.
