Boston Trip

We went to Boston for Labor Day weekend. We used Priceline to get $75 rooms at the airport Hilton, which was nice. We were able to hop on the "T" (subway) at the airport station after a short shuttle ride from the hotel lobby. The subway stations are really muggy. We went to Quincy Market and ate at Walrus & the Carpenter restaurant in Quincy Market, which was just a small booth. I had excellent clams and Barb got a great bread bowl of New England clam chowder. Then we walked around Quincy Market before eventually going to the club area near Fenway. We went in Jake Ivory's piano bar, which was a lot of fun. The atmosphere was really alive. People really enjoyed singing along. I put some short videos of that out on YouTube . On Sunday, we fought the crowd at the New England Aquarium and saw an IMAX movie about sharks. Then we went to the Eastern Standard restaurant. The service and food there was excellent. I'd never been given a choice of what type of Oysters I wanted before. They had 3 varieties and I tried them all. Barb had a great chicken salad. We also put away 2 carafes of a South African white wine that we enjoyed. After dinner, we went to Jillian's , which is like a Chucky Cheese for adults. We played a game of pool there. I was surprised at how big this place was. It had a bowling alley on the top floor! Unfortunately, there were no video games. So despite the rainy weather from Ernesto and me getting sick at the end, we had a good time in Boston.
